Richard Miller Palmer
During his service in World War II, Army Technician Fifth Grade Palmer experienced a traumatic event which ultimately resulted in loss of life on June 6, 1944. Recorded circumstances attributed to: KIA - Killed in Action. Incident location: Omaha Beach, Normandy, France.
Richard Miller Palmer graduated from Littlestown High School in 1935 and was president of his class. He graduated from Millersville State Teachers College in 1939 and then received his Master's degree. He was inducted into the service on May 1, 1941. He spent a year and ten months in England prior to being part of the D-Day invasion of France on June 6, 1944 where he was killed in action.
Richard Miller Palmer is buried or memorialized at Christ United Church of Christ Cemetery, Littlestown, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
