Wilbert graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School class of 1964. He Enlisted for 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corp and was amoung the first group of Marines that landed in Vietnam in 1965 with the 3rd Marine Division. He spent his tour as a Gunner on a M109 self propelled. He was a Life Member of the VFW, American Legion, and Forks of the Delaware Weapons Ass. He was a Life Charter Member and Cofounder of the Tri-Boro Detachment of the Marine Corps League in Red Hill PA.
