John A. Stoudt
John A. Stoudt Jr., 89, of Palm, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Norma (Ackerman) Stoudt. The celebrated 65 years of marriage last September. Born in Palm, he was a son of the late John Sr. and Annie (Eddinger) Stoudt. He served his country honorably in the Marine Corps during WWII where he received the Purple Heart. Following his service, he attended Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and graduated with a degree in funeral service. He worked for the former Owen Hoffman Funeral Home in East Greenville for a short time. He then joined the family business, Palm Cabinet Works, as a wood craftsman. He worked there until the business closed in 1969 and then he worked for Allen Organs in Macungie as a cabinet builder until retiring in 1993. He was a faithful member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pennsburg where he was a former member of the Men of Malvern. He was also a member of the Upper Perk Valley Marine Corp League.
Survivors: Wife; a son Gregory, at home; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers: Cyril, Otto, Paul, and Thomas; and sisters: Mary, Margaret, Madlyn, and Lena.
A Funeral Mass was held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Rd, Pennsburg. Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg was entrusted with his arrangements.
