Tony Bennett

During WWII, legendary singer

Tony Bennett was part of the

255th Infantry Regiment, 63rd

Infantry Division, which was known

as the

"Blood and Fire" division.

He saw intense action at the Battle

of the Bulge and participated in the

liberation of the Dachau

concentration camp. It was a

chance encounter with Bob Hope

during a USO visit that encouraged

him to pursue music after the war.
