Edward Ely
Edward Ely of Warminster passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, after a long illness. He was 73. He was the loving husband of Edna (Grierson ) Ely, devoted wife and caregiver with whom he shared over 51 years of marriage. He was the son of the late Edward J. and Mary A. (Hemphill) Ely.
Ed was a long time member of the 913th Airlift Wing located at the Willow Grove Air Reserve Station. He served for a combined 37 years on active duty and in the Air Force Reserves as an aircraft mechanic retiring in 1996, at the rank of chief master sergeant. He greatly enjoyed his work and the friendships he made while in the 913th Airlift Wing. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending social gatherings with his William Tennent High School classmates (Class of 1959). He had recently taken up building and flying model airplanes. He loved visiting the Maryland shore where he enjoyed boating, fishing and the beach.
In addition to his wife, ed is survived by his sons, Edward Ely Jr. and his wife, Gerrie and Timothy O. Ely and his wife, Jennifer. He has five grandchildren, Julia, Lauren, Logan, Jack and Travis Ely. He also is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Ely Carter (Joseph).

Relatives and friends attended his funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, in the Decker Funeral Home. 216 York Road, Warminster.
Interment was held at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery .
