Bryon A. Hallman
Brian joined the U.S. Air Force just three weeks out of High School. He was 17 and took initial basic training at Lackland AFB in Texas, and completed Basic military training at Keesler AFB in Mississippi where he took training for Air Ground Radio Operations. He had many overseas deployments while in the Air Force including: Athens Greece, Izmir Turkey, and Hickam AFB Hawaii. In 1964 he left the Air Force and joined the U.S. Forein Service (Diplomatic Service) and was a Communication Officer at Embassies around the globe for over 27 years. Bryon retired from the U.S. Foreign Service at the age of 50 in 1991. After retirement Bryon continued to work part-time in his previous capacity for the Diplomatic Corp for two to three months per year for the next 14 years. He served a total of over 41 years and in over 30 countries. His life in the Diplomatic Corp was interesting, and he sites assignments in Beirut, Moscow, Kuwait, and Afghanistan as his favorite.
