Michael Chobot

He served the United States of America as a member of the 325th Glider Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division from 15 May 1943 to 16 Jan 1946. Private First Class Chobot distinguished himself as a Mortar Gunmen in the Battles of Rhineland Ardennes during the Central Europe Campaigns. Private Chobot was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, American Theater Service Medal, European Theater Service Medal with 3 Battle Stars, and a Victory Medal. While engaged in combat during the Battle of Rhineland, Private Chobot engaged the enemy and fired a 60MM mortars at the enemy’s position. His unit destroyed the enemy’s position. Private Chobot then assisted in the capture and holding of enemy personnel while still offering support to other allied units.
