Christopher “Chief” Prinzivalli, 60, of Boyertown, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at his residence.
A devoted husband, father, brother, combat veteran, and patriot, he leaves behind a legacy of integrity, service, and quiet strength.
Born in Norristown on December 11, 1964, he was the son of the late Louis Prinzivalli and Kathleen (Pasquale).
He was the loving husband of Joan (Miller) Prinzivalli, whom he married May 29, 2005.
Chris was a 1983 graduate of Norristown High School and later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbia Southern University with Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Management.
After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Army at age 17. He served in the Army and then the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for 37 years earning the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. Chris held multiple positions and titles throughout his military career including Platoon Sergeant, Motor Sergeant, and finally “Chief”. He served 2 tours overseas - one in Bosnia (formerly Yugoslavia) in 2003 and one in Iraq during OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) in 2009. His Awards are as follows: Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal (4th award), Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2nd Award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3rd award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge.
When he retired from the military, he picked up many different hobbies that revolved around nature. Chris worked in maintenance at Green Lane Park in Montgomery County. He volunteered at the Wolf Sanctuary of PA in Lititz and the Husky House of Boyertown. The free time that Chris had would be spent with his beloved pet dogs Ella and Willie, hiking in the mountains, camping and playing ice hockey. He formed a strong passion for photography and loved taking pictures of wildlife/nature, especially wolves. Chris was also very proud of his Sicilian heritage.
Surviving are four children: Chelsea Prinzivalli of Pittsburgh; Tyler Prinzivalli of Pittsburgh; Savannah Tucker of Philadelphia; and Emily Prinzivalli of Newville, PA.
Also surviving are two siblings, Vicki Cipollini and Daniel Prinzivalli (Carmela).
There are also four cousins surviving: Brian Pasquale (Shannon); Jason Pasquale; Ali Pasquale; and Abbey Pasquale. Surviving are also seven nieces and nephews.
Chris was very close with his sister-in-law, Christine Hoban, brother-in-law, Joseph Hoban, and their children Megan, Matt, and Abby of Havertown, PA, and late mother-in-law, Dot Waeltz, and father-in-law Tom Waeltz of Levittown, PA.
He is also survived by his brothers in arms, those he served in combat with, and the others he formed an unbreakable bond with along his military journey.
A viewing will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 9 am to 11 am at the Stitzel Family Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., Oley, PA. Burial will take place at Arlington Cemetery at a future date.
